ś.p. Stanisław Wardzała

Stanislaw Wardzała, beloved husband of Alina Wardzała, passed away tragically on Sunday, December 29th, 2024, at the age of 71.

Stanislaw was born in Stara Jastrzabka, Poland, on August 15, 1953. At the age of 20, he served in the Polish army. In 1975, he started working at WSK in Mielec, and in 1978 and 1979, he worked in Libya and Germany, respectively.

In 1986, Stanislaw immigrated to Canada with a vision for a better future and raising a family. He settled in Calgary and married Alina in 1987. In 1991, they welcomed their first child, Ania, and in 1992, their son, Peter.

He worked at Spruce Meadows Flying Plate Catering (Great Events) for many years. And also as a custodian for the Calgary Catholic School Board for over 25 years. 

His children were everything to Stanislaw. He worked hard to provide the best opportunities for his family and was a role model for Ania and Peter. Stanislaw was also known for his humor and easy-going nature, ensuring friends and family enjoyed the lighter side of life.

Stanislaw enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms in the Polish forest, and camping with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife Alina and son Peter, Stanislaw is survived by his brother Czeslaw (Irena), his brother Jozef (Krystyna), and his sister Maria (Jozef), as well as his sisters-in-law Rozalia (Emil) and Grazyna (Henryk), and his brother-in-law Leszek (Boguslawa). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stanislaw was predeceased by his daughter Ania, his parents Wladyslaw and Katarzyna Wardzala, and his in-laws Edward and Antonina Nutowicz.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive NW) on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00am with Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
